Crafted from high-quality coffee with strong physical integrity, this lot is selected for its ability to retain character and complexity through the decaffeination process. Using a water-based method, the green coffee is first soaked to gently open the beans and prepare them for caffeine removal. The moistened coffee is then placed into a specialized solution made from concentrated coffee compounds, which selectively removes caffeine while preserving much of the coffee’s natural flavor. After decaffeination, the beans are carefully dried and packaged for shipment, while the solution is filtered to remove caffeine and reused in future cycles.
Coffee Cherry Process
- Mountain Washed Process: A chemical-free decaffeination method that uses pure water to gently remove caffeine while preserving the coffee’s natural flavor. The green beans are soaked to extract caffeine, then reintroduced to a coffee-based solution that protects the bean’s original taste characteristics. The result is a smooth, well-balanced Colombian decaf that keeps its body and sweetness intact.
