About the Region & Process

Brazil, the world’s largest coffee producer, is home to vast estates that employ advanced mechanized processing to handle high volumes. The Mogiana region, straddling São Paulo and Minas Gerais, is renowned for its rolling hills and ideal growing conditions, supporting small to medium-sized farms.

This lot is sourced from Cooperativa Regional de Cafeicultores em Guaxupé (Cooxupé), founded in 1937 and home to 14,000 active members. The farmers, typically managing 60-acre farms, hand-harvest their cherries and dry them on patios before precise mechanical drying ensures optimal moisture levels. Final milling and export occur at the Cooxupé dry mill, where strict traceability and quality control ensure farmers are rewarded for their coffee’s excellence.
